In 2019 we announced the launch of a CAP Debt Centre for Burnley and we are delighted that CAP Burnley has now launched! You may have met John Graver when he came to speak at Life Church earlier in the year. Several people from the Life Church community have already signed up to become befrienders as part of CAP Burnley as John is now taking on clients.

CAP stands for Christians Against Poverty and started in 1996 as John Kirkby set out to help people find freedom from debt.

Money saving expert Martin Lewis says about CAP “CAP are unsurpassed when it comes to the debt help they give people across the country. There’s nothing better to start you on the path to having more money in your pocket”

Through the work of CAP hundreds of people have begun Debt free and have also come to faith in Christ and become part of the life of a local Church.

CAP in Burnley is being delivered in partnership with other Churches in the town, with the Bishop of Burnley Philip North being a leading voice that has enabled CAP to begin in the town.

If you want to find out more about how you can pray for CAP, become a befriender or any other questions please do speak to Pete Baker who is on the CAP Burnley steering group.
